Appmore participates in the latest CDP assessment working for a more sustainable IT sector

Sustainability is shown through actions. Participating in the global CDP assessment (Carbon Disclosure Project) is an important part of our commitment to transparency and continuous improvement. CDP evaluates companies’ impact on climate change, water security, and deforestation, serving as a global benchmark for environmental responsibility.

What is a CDP score?

A CDP score reflects the level of environmental transparency and action disclosed by an organization during the reporting year. The scoring framework is designed to help companies understand their progress and identify areas for improvement across key environmental themes such as climate change, water security, and forests.

CDP uses four performance bands:

Disclosure (D / D-)
The organization has disclosed environmental data but has not yet demonstrated significant action or risk management. This is the starting level for transparency.

Awareness (C / C-)
The organization shows awareness of environmental issues and risks but is in the early stages of developing strategies or actions to address them.

Management (B / B-)

The organization has started implementing environmental strategies and taking coordinated action. This includes efforts to assess and mitigate environmental risks, develop internal policies, and integrate environmental considerations into core operations.

Leadership (A / A-)

The organization demonstrates environmental best practices. This includes setting science-based targets, actively managing Scope 1 and 2 emissions, aligning with a 1.5°C transition pathway, and engaging suppliers on sustainability topics. Environmental strategy is embedded into business governance and performance monitoring.

It’s important to note that CDP scores are not holistic sustainability ratings. Instead, they represent the level and quality of environmental action and governance disclosed by an organization in a given year.

Appmore environmental performance scores a promising result and a clear goal

Participation in the CDP assessment is important to us because IT is not just about technology, it’s about values. We believe that business must create meaningful value for people, including our customers, employees, and future generations. The CDP provides a framework to measure our progress and identify new ways to enhance our responsibility efforts.

In the latest assessment, Appmore received a score of B across all three evaluated categories:

Climate Change: B
This reflects the concrete measures and strategies we have in place to manage our climate impact. By comparison, the industry average was C, showing that we are well above the global norm.

Water Security: B
A B score indicates our commitment to responsible water use and risk management, even though water usage is not the primary environmental impact in the IT sector. The average score in this category was also C.

Forests: B
This category focuses on supply chain responsibility and sourcing related to forest-linked products. Our B score demonstrates that we make transparent choices and report our actions responsibly. The average score here was also C.

The CDP assessment serves as a valuable compass. It helps us objectively evaluate our environmental efforts and identify specific areas for improvement. We are proud to have scored above the global average in all assessed categories. At the same time, we acknowledge that achieving an A score requires continued development and a broader environmental impact.

Our clear goal is to move from B to A. This work continues with determination as part of our daily operations and in close collaboration with our stakeholders.
